Wishnu Mahaprana lives in Jakarta and he’s a freelance photographer and an entrepreneur. His interest in photography started back in 2010. In the past 4-5 years he has started to approach it more seriously, learning more from the works of past or present photographers, trying different mediums of image-making, and searching my purpose and style of photography have made him grown to love, respect, and understand more of the craft.

About LIKEWISE – words by Wishnu Mahaprana:

LIKEWISE is an ongoing project that visually aims to convey the concept of a balanced everyday life and can act as a self-reminder or therapeutic experience. These series of photos are meant to complement each other and illustrating a sense of balance, contentment, calmness, and awareness that often occurred throughout our daily lives and sometimes get overlooked in our social life, work, everyday routine, or our well being.

The fast-paced life in today’s world can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, tired, and stressed, however sometimes there are these simple little fleeting moments, moments that make you feel a certain feeling of happiness or content, calm and a feeling of warmth, whether it’s having a good meal in your lunchtime at work or school, listening to some good music on your way home, have a good talk with your friends or colleagues or as simple as a lazy Sunday staying at home.

Those simple moments can sometimes lift our spirits and makes us feel more grateful, although having that “balance” itself sometimes can have the notion as simple and complex at the same time. Personally appreciating and being aware of those kinds of moments have benefited me positively and gives me a balanced understanding of how to approach everyday life.

This series of photos is taken from 2017-2021.
