Venice has long existed between water and imagination, a city where time does not simply pass, but layers itself into a rich and living narrative. Here, stories intertwine, and savoir-faire has the power to transform the ephemeral into something enduring. It is within this unique context that the Dries Van Noten Foundation emerges, positioning itself as a new cultural and artistic landmark.

Housed within the historic Palazzo Pisani Moretta, the Foundation brings renewed life to one of the city’s most emblematic palaces, transforming it into a space for contemporary dialogue. Amid frescoes, intricate ornamentation, and architecture steeped in history, new narratives unfold, connecting past and present, established voices and emerging talents, local craftsmanship and international perspectives.

Conceived by Dries Van Noten together with Patrick Vangheluwe, the Foundation is rooted in a clear belief: craftsmanship is an act of cultural identity. To create is to think through the hands, to give form to ideas through materials, gestures, time, and care. In this space, traditions are not preserved as static relics but continuously reinterpreted—becoming a living material open to transformation.

At its core lies the celebration of the human dimension of making. Artisans, designers, artists, and emerging talents are the true protagonists, sustaining culture through their work. The Foundation becomes a place of encounter and participation, where creators and audiences engage in an active dialogue, collectively shaping the creative horizons of today and tomorrow.

Its program develops throughout the year, spanning presentations, collaborative projects, residencies, and educational initiatives designed to support students and young creatives. By fostering connections across disciplines, communities, and geographies, the Foundation aims to generate new visions and opportunities through art, beauty, and craftsmanship.

More than an exhibition space, the Dries Van Noten Foundation presents itself as a living organism, constantly evolving, much like Venice itself. A place where art, beauty, and craft are not only observed, but activated as tools to imagine what comes next.
