Founded by Ghénos Communication’s Founder and Managing Director Gabriella Del Signore, TDH Tricolore Design Hub (TDH) is a dedicated space for fostering connections and networking within the world of design, located in the renowned design district of Durini-Monforte. Throughout the year, TDH hosts a variety of events, meetings, exhibitions, and presentations that focus on design and its related sectors, such as art, architecture, real estate, and lifestyle. In addition to being a multi-brand exhibition space for companies, TDH features a spacious open library and an internal meeting room, providing a convenient venue for meetings and corporate gatherings.

TDH serves as the operational headquarters for Ghénos Communication, a well-known PR & Press Office agency that works with leading brands in the industry. The professionals at Ghénos Communication bring their expertise to the companies in this lively and dynamic environment. Major companies, including Flos, Listone Giordano, Carl Hansen & Son, USM Modular Furniture, Thonet GmbH, and Antolini, have selected the agency to represent them at the international PR level. Ghénos Communication has been proudly representing these clients for over twenty-five years, making up their impressive portfolio.

C41: How was TDH conceived?

Gabriella Del Signore: Everything is already declared in the name: Tricolore, like the square in Milan where we are located and as a symbol of Made in Italy; Design, which has been the leitmotif of Ghénos Communication’s press office and public relations activities for twenty-five years; and Hub, because our intention is precisely to create relationships and networking. It is a project that I have been imagining for years and for which I have invested considerable resources, overcoming many difficulties, to restructure a very dilapidated space and transform it into an environment that meets our expectations. Here are those companies that do not have their own Milanese showroom to rely on for their activities, and to display their collections. But TDH is not a showroom, even though products are and will be on display. It is above all a meeting and relations point: a multidisciplinary place dedicated to networking and connections between the various protagonists in the fields of communication, business, design, and architecture.

C41: What’s its relation to Ghénos agency?

GDS: TDH also serves as the headquarters of the agency, which occupies about a third of the space with its operational offices. The opening of TDH in May 2022 coincided with the agency’s 25th anniversary, underlining the importance of this space in the context of Ghénos Communication’s activities. They are, therefore, two realities that share space, objectives, and a mission but operate autonomously and independently: TDH’s partners are not the same brands that the agency follows for PR.

C41: Where is the hub located in the city? How does it connect with the neighbourhood?

GDS: TDH is nestled between the vibrant heart of Milan’s design district, Durini-Monforte, which is known for its creativity and innovation, and the new Porta Venezia district, offering a modern and inclusive vision of design. In addition to being an exhibition space available to brand partners, our hub is also open to the public and visitors. We regularly host events, exhibitions, and debates that attract professionals and design enthusiasts. This type of activity contributes to revitalising and enhancing the district, providing a meeting and exchange place for the world of design and creativity.

C41: How can multiple brands coexist in the same showroom space?

GDS: To achieve this, it is necessary to implement strategies and approaches that allow each brand to maintain its own identity and visibility. At TDH, we have divided the space into modular areas that can be customised by each company. This way, every brand has its own dedicated area to display products and create a showroom that aligns with its specific needs and visual identity. Additionally, we ensure that each brand receives exclusive product placement within the space. By implementing these measures, the different brands and products can interact with each other, creating a harmonious environment that celebrates their uniqueness.

C41: What is the current definition of networking and how do we apply it at TDH?

GDS: TDH organizes various events throughout the year, providing the companies in our space with opportunities to network and connect with potential clients. These events foster professional exchanges that facilitate the acquisition of new leads. In today’s world, networking goes beyond simply making new connections. It is essential to nurture and maintain existing contacts over time. TDH ensures regular follow-up by sending invitations to events and informative newsletters about the hub’s activities. This keeps our audience informed and engaged with the ongoing happenings at TDH.
