Thomas Pirot (b. 1988) is a photographer from southwest Germany who uses photography as an excuse to talk to strangers. He received his BA in Communication Design from University of Applied Sciences Mainz, Germany in 2016 after spending one semester at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.
Trying to balance intimacy and distance he now regularly works as an editorial photographer for a range of magazines and agencies.

Sunbather is a photo series based on emotions, smells, sounds, colors and words; connotations. All images were taken in October 2016 in and around the City of Cape Coral, FL. The 2016 presidential race and hurricane Matthew gave every aspect of life a feeling of imminent danger and a weird aura of romance and melancholy seemed to engulf the neighborhoods.
