About ‘Uman See’ – words by Stefan Reichmann:

Carinthia, the southern part of Austria, is best known for its numerous lakes and its bathing culture. The project UMAN SEE started at one of those lakes called „Wörthersee“ where big, old trees grow close to the shore, making it a hot spot for teenagers. A big rope is tied to a tree to swing into the lake with, while the very braves, climb theses trees to the highest point, to jump deep into the lake. The photos take you back to those hot, long summers from your teenage years which felt to last an eternety and where mostly spent at the lakeside.

I photographed and explored two long and hot summers the carinthian lakes, which are also my home region. I do not have to travel far away to find new inspiration. I rather develop new projects close to where I have been born, where I know the area and the people.
