Then, starting from 1 PM on Saturday 23, you can join us at Spazio Maiocchi and browse for the first time in Italy the new paper issue 9 Eros. SPRINT _\|/_ Independent Publishers and Artists’ Books Salon is a non-profit artist-led platform devoted to investigating – in a sustainable environment – the multiple ways in which contents, supports and languages emerge in publishing. SPRINT welcomes small projects and complex productions approaching experimentation, research, archives, with attitude. The three-days program includes an art book fair (the tables are cost free for all selected exhibitors as a sign of tangible support to the community), talks, workshops, exhibitions, performances and a fundraising party. The first edition took place in Milano in 2013.
SPRINT — Independent Publishers and Artists’ Books Salon 7th Edition takes place at Spazio Maiocchi for the second time, bringing together the two cultural entities. An international moment dedicated to the independent publishing world, conceived and designed by artist Dafne Boggeri, in collaboration with non-profit entity O’.
Featuring more than 90 international publishers, the event aims at gathering, in a sustainable environment, a selection of the most interesting artists and experiences of the international independent publishing scene.
The dense collateral program of SPRINT will feature talks, performances, displays, readings and workshops held between the venues of Spazio Maiocchi and O’.
David Reinfurt (American, b.1971) will kick off the 7th edition of SPRINT on Friday 22 November (6–10 PM) with A *New* Program for Graphic Design, his first solo exhibition/lecture in Europe, hosted by O’. The artist and writer, will also take over the billboard in the courtyard of Spazio Maiocchi with a newly commissioned work.
At Spazio Maiocchi, KALEIDOSCOPE will present a solo exhibition by New York-based artist Austin Lee (American, b.1983) to coincide with the launch of the artist’s first monograph published by Carl Kostyál and KALEIDOSCOPE, and designed by Bureau Mirko Borsche.
A new performance program BOOKS AS HOOKS will be inaugurated with the contribution of Costanza Candeloro x Altalena, Ginevra Dolcemare x Fuzao Studio, Stella Succi x Nobodys.
At Artifact, Leonhard Laupichler will present the site-specific installation NEW AESTHETIC, supported by Slam Jam, about ‘Typography as Feelings’ in the contemporary landscape.
