On the occasion of Milan Art Week and Design Week 2024, BiM hosts a showcase of Campeggi design objects curated by C41 and SPECIFIC.

Salone calmo. A Showcase of Campeggi Objects presents a selection of objects from Campeggi’s archives within BiM, an urban regeneration project in the heart of Bicocca. The exhibition is open from April 12th to April 21st, with a special cocktail party on Saturday 13th from 6:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

The exhibition is an invitation to experience the most hectic weeks of Milan from an unusual, calm district located in a suburban area of Milan: Bicocca. C41 and SPECIFIC curate a place to stop and pause, where Campeggi iconic sofas and sofa beds provide the comfort of an experience of rest and discovery not only of the brand’s archival objects but also of BiM’s spaces and the art on display.

The installation curated by C41 offers visitors a recontextualisation of Underdog and Ipno, Campeggi’s transformable sofa bed and bed designed by Lorenzo Damiani and Finemateria, respectively. Through the installation of four sofa beds inside the gallery, in dialogue with the 16 photographic works depicting the Bicocca, QT8, NoLo, and Bovisa neighborhoods of the northern area and a video documentary on the making of the works, Campeggi’s objects allow a different fruition of the space and the exhibition, inviting one to pause, think and see. Also available to the public will be C41’s magazine issue #14 where Campeggi, and specifically Underdog, is narrated through Giovanna Castelli’s words in conversation with Guglielmo Campeggi and Lorenzo Damiani and photos Luca A. Caizzi, photographer and Founder of C41.

The spaces of SPECIFIC–a multidisciplinary creative design and production laboratory–present an installation that connects iconic pieces from across the Campeggi archive, with contemporary works by individual members of the SPECIFIC collective (Patrick Tuttofuoco, Andrea Sala, Nic Bello, Alessandra Pallotta).
