SAHI, a newly launched Paris-based gallery and interior design practice, has introduced a distinct curatorial platform through its online launch, sahi.fr. Founded by Deniz Başman, SAHI focuses on twentieth-century furniture, decorative arts, lighting, ceramics, and collectible objects chosen for their material dialogue, presence, and ability to shape contemporary spaces.

Rather than confining its scope to a single era, SAHI’s collection spans diverse design movements, including early modernism, Wiener Werkstätte, Scandinavian design, Art Deco, and Italian radicalism. The inaugural selection features remarkable pieces, such as 1919 walnut chairs attributed to Giovanni Michelucci, 1969 Baffo lounge chairs by Gianni Pareschi and Ezio Didone, and Finnish ceramics by Birger Kaipiainen. It also includes 1930s Murano glassware by Pauly & Co. and a silver-plated centerpiece by Lino Sabattini.

The gallery reflects the singular, multidisciplinary vision of Deniz Başman. Born in Turkey and shaped by a cross-cultural upbringing, Başman studied at Paris’s École Spéciale d’Architecture. She built a career at the intersection of architecture, fashion, and design, collaborating on specialized furniture and art installations for major luxury houses including Saint Laurent, Celine, Dior, and Dior Homme. Notably, she also served as the Special Projects Director for Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market Paris.

Beyond operating as a digital gallery, SAHI functions as a comprehensive interior design studio. This central arm of the practice offers creative direction, interior concepts, custom furniture development, retail merchandising, and spatial scenography for private clients, brands, and institutions. By merging architecture, rigorous material research, and design culture, SAHI operates holistically from concept to execution. It positions itself not merely as a traditional gallery, but as a dynamic multidisciplinary studio where curation, high design, and visual storytelling intersect.
