About ‘South African Portraits and Landscapes’ – words by Robin Bernstein:

This collection of images forms part of an ongoing photographic engagement with my home country, South Africa. In some ways, the series started as a collection point for standalone images which were not intended towards any specific body of work. Over time an evolving narrative started to take shape — one which speaks to my involvement as both a documentarian of the context in which I live, and also as an active participant in the negotiation between the space that I occupy in South Africa and those I share it with. Images in this selection were made at various locations all around the country between 2018 and 2020.
