The Autumn/Winter 24 edition of Paris Fashion Week is set to kick off on Monday, February 26th, and run through to Tuesday, March 5th, offering a whole nine days of delights. It may be open to debate which slot on the Fashion Week calendar is most prestigious, however, on this rare occasion the fashion community reaches an almost unanimous conclusion that it is indeed Paris Fashion Week.

Of course, one can expect the seasoned players–Dior, Saint Laurent, Loewe, Hermès, Balenciaga, Valentino, Chanel, and Miu Miu–to offer nothing short of a spectacle. But, in recent years heads have been turned by the revival of vintage icons like Courrèges, Rabanne, Schiaparelli, and Mugler who all take prime time slots in the upcoming schedule.

Naturally, in Paris, eyes will also be out for the avant-garde from Rick Owens to Yohji Yamamoto. Proving there’s something in the program to meet everyone’s taste.

Then there are the up-and-comers, here to offer a fresh and youthful perspective. Copenhagen native Cecilie Bahnsen is set to show in Paris for the fifth time, and is sure to provide a romantic feminine touch. Or if it’s practicality and wearability you’re looking for, Ottolinger and Kiko Kostadinov are here to provide something in the realm of utilitarianism.

One cannot discuss the Paris Fashion Week calendar without making mention of Seán McGirr’s debut for Alexander McQueen, set to take place on the evening of March 2nd. The Irishman, who took the helm from Sarah Burton last September, sent the internet into a frenzy with a preview of his work utilising the brand’s original logo convinced by Lee Alexander McQueen himself. Giving us just a taste of what to expect from the new collection.

Other changes on the Paris roster include debuts from Chemena Kamali for Chloé, Alessandro Vigilante for Rochas, and Stefano Gallici’s second collection at Ann Demeulemeester. In fact after his short tenure at the Belgian brand, Ludovic de Saint Sernin chose instead to return to the runway with his eponymous label at New York Fashion Week this season. Return faces can also be found in the likes of Off-White, who are back for a third season under the direction of Ibrahim Kamara after a short hiatus from shows, and Lacoste who return from last season across the Atlantic.

To close out the agenda, Louis Vuitton is set to celebrate Nicolas Ghesquière’s 10th anniversary as creative director of womenswear. Over the past months, Ghesquière himself has shared a retrospective journey through the archives of his time at the brand on social media in anticipation of this monumental event.
