Giulio Squillacciotti’s film is part of the two-year widespread program of GAMeC “Thinking Like a Mountain – The Orobie Biennial”, which brings art projects throughout the Province of Bergamo with a view to creating new paths of sharing aimed at reflecting on the themes of sustainability and community. Available from February 8 to May 18, 2025, the film travels through the Bergamo valleys on a journey that intertwines images, nature, and artistic research.

MUT (mountain in the dialect of Bergamo) is a day in the highlands, an allegory for a centuries-old summer tradition of life across mountain pastures. Through the eyes of two young herders and their parents, the cyclical rhythm of life becomes a universal testament to the enduring bond between humans and animals, revealing a kinship molded by gestures, silences, and affection, deeply embedded within the surrounding natural world.
