Meghan Ireland is a native of New Hampshire currently living in Massachusetts. A 2012 graduate of the New England School of Photography, Meghan is now working as an editorial, documentary and fine art photographer specializing in small format, location work.
Her images are a collection of instinctual moments in her life, personal moments that deal with themes related to nostalgia, identity, and an often romanticized look at history and culture.
About ‘Hometown’:
Home is where one starts from. – T.S. Eliot
Hometown is a project that features an obscure cast of characters and the often-dubbed-ordinary places that are distinctly rural New Hampshire. A seemingly average place to live that can best be described as inspirational, compelling, habitually humorous, charming and at times melancholic.
From the start, this body of work began as a familiar look back at a place where I’ve spent most of my life. There is value in understanding and knowing where you’ve been; I have found that it better guides you to wherever you may be going.
