Matter and Shape is a new design salon in Paris initiated by WSN’s Matthieu Pinet under the creative direction of independent curator Dan Thawley, announces a selection of brands and partners that will participate in the inaugural edition from the 1st to the 4th of March in an ephemeral space in the Jardin des Tuileries. Elevating the realms of architecture, design, and fashion these names promise an unparalleled showcase of global design perspectives, excellence and innovation.

For the salon’s first edition, LA-based architect and designer Willo Perron of Perron Roettinger Studio proposes a calm, bright space for an intimate curation of world-class exhibitors that includes a central cafe island, design bookstore and boutique, and restaurant. Perron’s design promises a seamless fusion of elegance and functionality, creating an ideal backdrop for the diverse exhibits.

Adding a gastronomic dimension to the event, the Paris-based culinary studio WE ARE ONA has been revealed as the exclusive restaurant partner, featuring the Armenian-American chef Pierce Abernathy and an installation conceived by Willo Perron. With a commitment to providing an intimate dining experience, WE ARE ONA will offer both a dinner and lunch service accommodating up to 80 patrons, with advanced bookings opening at 6pm GMT on February 12th.

Demonstrating the diversity of voices at Matter and Shape, exhibitors will offer a range of contemporary expressions of design today, where both craft and commerce co-exist with creativity. RDAI, the historic architects of the house of Hermès, will present an exhibition of their B2B service Material Curator, showcasing their cutting-edge material research facility available to decorators, architects, and designers.
American fashion designer Rick Owens will unveil an exhibition by the French-American artist Scarlett Rouge, alongside a selection of bronze and crystal objects from the Rick Owens Object Collection.

The salon will witness exciting collaborations and product launches, including PIN-UP Home’s first collaboration with the Swiss design brand De Sede, an exhibition of Lobmeyr crystal from Vienna curated by Milanese studio Formafantasma, and the world of Alessi seen through the eyes of Parisian creative director Clarisse Demory. MATTER and SHAPE will feature a host of international exhibitors, with participants such as Artment Dep creative studio from South Korea showcasing furniture pieces by Minjae Kim and IAAC ceramics, and FLOS highlighting the Bilboquet Lamp designed by Philippe Malouin in a custom installation by the French designer. British brand Perfumer H joins this edition as the fragrance partner of MATTER and SHAPE, and will infuse the common areas, bathrooms, and gift shop with captivating scents by Lyn Harris, enhancing the overall sensory experience of the salon. Serbian designer and photographer Ana Kraš will introduce her first collection under her own company Teget, in collaboration with Ruben Moreira, unveiling a collaboration with the revolutionary 3D-weaving textile company, Unspun.
