About ‘Raton Salvaje’:

“When I was a child, my aunt Ana brought my cousins and me to the amusement park which was installed every Christmas in Valencia. It usually settled at the beginning of December and only then we Knew the Christmas was coming, of the fifteen days of school’s holidays, this date was with no doubt one of the most special. During a few hours we got into a special and fascinating world, away of the complicated and in consequence boring adult’s universe, that was a world which apparently we could take under control, in which we could chose, a world fictitious though concrete, from where we didn’t want to come out.”

It is a series of portraits of workers from amusement parks framed inside their brightly lit houses. The project aims to reveal the dark and wild side of the amusement parks. These are nomadic people who live inside their vans. The carefree point of view of a child is probably not able to go beyond the incredible lights, noises and fun games, but as happens for every reality there are two sides and Jaume Albert Martì wanted to tell the truth.
