Cecilia Donati was born in Pisa in 1996 and lives in Lucca. After graduating from high school, having developed over the years a strong passion for cinema and photography, nurtured by her parents since she was a child, she enrolled at the Accademia Cinema Toscana and specialised in DOP.
After laying these initial foundations, she obtained a scholarship, as an assistant, from the Italian Institute of Photography in Milan. During her two years at the institute, after studying the various fields of static photography, she decided to focus on fine art and documentary photography.

Northern, Central, Southern was born out of the desire to tell something simple. During this summer, three of my friends and I decided to travel around Italy visiting each other’s homes, located in different regions. It was an experience to get to know the places that symbolize our lives and our families. At the same time, it is a description of today’s Italy, its places and traditions, photographed from my point of view.
