LABottega is a place that thinks in silence. A place deeply rooted in local history and cultural memory, yet never surrendered to the passing of time.
Pietrasanta and its Marina have breathed art and tradition for centuries. It’s no coincidence that the area has long welcomed artists who choose to live and work between the hills of Versilia, where sea and mountains meet. It’s a place that seems frozen in time—like the stillness of the marble sculptures that inhabit it—yet never stops thinking forward.
It is precisely between sea and countryside that LABottega project has evolved, keeping pace with time and shifting social landscapes. Once a village shop—a true “bottega di paese”, the kind of place where locals and visitors came not just to buy, but to spend time, pause, and belong—accompanied by a restaurant and rooms for travelers, it has been carefully reimagined over the years without being overwritten. It has the kind of past you can still feel in the walls. Its transformation is quiet and deliberate, much like the rhythm of the place itself. LABottega’s new life honors the old one, and the structure remains a central gathering place.
But what began as a delicate experiment in grocery and hospitality has slowly unfolded into a constellation of spaces, each echoing the original spirit in a different register. It starts with the original spot—just a short walk from the sea—which is more than a place to eat or sleep. It’s a harmonious alchemy of food and art, photography, fine wine, social gatherings, and music, along with a menu of traditional Tuscan and Versilian dishes.
From there, the project expands into the landscape with La Stellata, where the rhythm becomes pastoral and elemental. A working farm and two villas are nestled in the rural folds just beyond the coast, where the relationship with time becomes even slower, more deliberate.
And then there’s The Gallery/LAB: an annex for artists, a space suspended between residence and exhibition. Hosting temporary showrooms, workshops, talks, and co-working, it’s designed to welcome artists in transit and their ideas.
Across all its spaces, what began as a small, local bottega continues to think, grow, and welcome—inviting anyone who feels the quiet pleasure of thinking along with it.
