Hi Leone, please introduce us to ‘Unfaces’.
Unfaces, is a project that arises from the need to tell a province reality through human faces.
These faces are united by having non-Swedish origins. Consequently, the theme of integration lies deep within these shots. What I like to point out is that the concept of nationality is uniformed and modeled following an intercession that becomes commonplace.
How do you hope the readers will react to ‘Unfaces’, ideally?
They are very banal portraits. I love the banality that is hidden behind the everyday, maybe I’m not the only one.It is not always necessary to present complicated and incomprehensible projects to be called artistic and unique. Banality as the same meaning of the word means, absolute lack of originality, is not a negative attribute to give images because it is able to mirror reality without too much added. Photographs speak alone through these faces that live a space.
Did you have any specific references or sources of inspiration in mind while working on ‘Unfaces’?
No, honestly my only source is my 35L minox, it’s natural for me to shoot with this camera.I’ve always shot with mine 35L minox and I’ll always shot to this camera. Me and my 35L minox are fine everywhere.I find that the film was the most suitable means of producing this project, which extensively talks about life and experiences.
Why did you find yourself in Stockholm? What struck you in this city so much to create a project?
I didn’t find myself in Stockholm, I have just been on vacation and have been able to combine the usefulness to the delightful.
