Andrea Reina says about himself:
“My name is Andrea Reina, I’m 20 and I was born and I grew up in a town in the province of Catania. Currently, I live in Florence and I attend the second year in the academy of fine arts, the LABA of Florence. I have a passion for photography, both analogic and digital and I’m also interested in the image’s post-production.I think my photography mirrors my soul and my being. I’m a very active and lively person, but sometimes I close myself and I start to photograph what inspires me. For that reason my photography is very dark because it shows that side of me that I can’t express to the others.
The range in which I work, is fashion, but I also like shooting in the studio, portraits, editorials and still images.”
About ‘A bit of silence‘:
The project “a bit of silence” wants to communicate the inability to be happy and reflect on their actions. My work is inspired by the photographers Steven Klein & Gregory Crewdson.
The photographs appear as “still images”: they consist in staged preparations with the help of a team of three people. What I wanted to highlight is a dense and rarefied atmosphere. The places, in which the subject is represented, are completely unusual, and characterized by a dreamlike and disquieting atmosphere. In my opinion, portraying an individual is a witness of the encounter between me and the subject.
